Team of Therapists
How we select our therapists and build the team
The key criteria is, we are looking for really talented therapists, who have a clear passion of working with relationship problems and helping couples. But finding such people isn’t easy. Here’s what we do.
- 1
Qualification
First check is the degree. The minimum qualification to be part of our team is Master’s in Psychology.
- 2
Academics
Second check is their academic ability. We typically go for therapists who have shown consistent academic achievement.
- 3
MCQ test
We make the selected candidates go through an MCQ test. The questions are derived from UGC Net, which is a standard testing method across India in for PhD and/or becoming a college/university professor.
- 4
About the person
At this point, we ask them to fill a detailed form which asks about their beliefs, values, dreams, strengths and weaknesses. This is to see if they are passionate about the work and if they fit our culture.
- 5
Technical round
In the final round, our team of therapists gives these candidates, real life client problems and a mock therapy round is conducted. Here the candidates are tested on: communication ability, rapport building skills, how well and quickly they understand the issue, their questioning style and finally their creativity in coming up with the right solution for the client.
- 6
Training & Probation
After the technical round is cleared, they tentatively join the team. They are trained thoroughly and actively supervised for the first 3 months.
- 7
Full-time Job
People that make it to the full time job are some of the best therapists in the industry, we can confidently say. But it doesn’t mean we are perfect. We still continue to push each other to learn more. We discuss our cases internally every week on Monday. We track everyone’s performance and create a monthly report card for each therapist, so they can identify improvement areas. Because we select people who are passionate about learning, all our therapists are super open to client feedback as well. We don’t get defensive. We try to understand the issue and learn from it, instead of taking it personally.
